Housing on Schönhauser Allee, Berlin
At the corner of Schönhauser Allee and Fehrbelliner Straße in the district of Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg, three low-energy residential buildings and one office building have been built in the form of a perimeter block development. The four houses are presented as individual houses and are understood as a critical reconstruction of the historical development with six Berlin apartment buildings.
In the three residential buildings, 50 apartments were created as part of the subsidized housing construction. Because of the high level of noise emissions, the bedrooms in all apartments are oriented towards the quiet, large inner courtyard, while on the street side fully openable conservatories, which can also be used as balconies, act as a climate and noise protection buffer.
