Quinta da Figueirinha – Silves Spa Resort, Portugal

 

The approximately 36-hectare property “Quinta da Figueirinha” is located in the Algarve, not far from the town of Silves.

The plan is to build a 4- to 5-star retreat, spa and wellness resort with around 300 beds.

The central design principle is the harmonious integration of the buildings into the existing topography. The structures follow the natural contours of the land and, together with green roofs and shaded courtyards, form a restrained complex of staggered terrace levels.

Low-profile building volumes with minimal height blend respectfully into the landscape. Generous openings and carefully placed sightlines offer diverse views of the surrounding nature. The clearly structured, light-filled architectural language creates tranquil, sheltered outdoor spaces in direct relation to the existing vegetation and in harmony with the Mediterranean climate.
