Norddeutsche Landesbank, Hanover

The design of this building was awarded first prize in a design competition. The building is located near the Kronsberg district near the Hanover exhibition center. Four identical four-storey "houses" are surrounded by an all-encompassing glass skin. The courtyards between the houses are unheated and carefully landscaped as relaxing green courtyards. The glass walls of the green courtyards can be opened to the outside. At the same time, the courtyards serve as thermal buffers, so that all of the offices with their total of 500 workstations can do without heating.
