Office building on the Goldbek Canal, Hamburg
The aim of this design was to close the gap between a renovated, listed former machine factory with a high-quality office building. The property is located in the Winterhude district of Hamburg, directly on the Goldbek Canal.
The adjoining building serves as an intermediary between old and new. The traditional perforated facade is taken up here, but the typical brick is replaced by a facade cladding made of ship plywood panels. The facade of the adjoining block of buildings has an aluminum facade in a post and beam construction with floor-to-ceiling glazing. The partial panels are also clad with ship plywood panels.
