Alexanderhaus, Berlin-Mitte
The "Alexanderhaus" was built together with the "Berolinahaus" between 1929 and 1932 by the well-known architect Peter Behrens. Today it is one of the most striking buildings in the eastern part of Berlin. The exemplary conversion and renovation of the listed building by PSP Architects was carried out in close coordination with the monument protection authorities. In addition to the new use as the headquarters of the Bankgesellschaft Berlin with trading floor and board rooms, the building has been expanded to include a shopping arcade with a connection to the "Alexanderplatz" underground station. After completion of the conversion, the building was awarded the Europa Nostra prize.
